An Imperial Stout aged in Weller Barrels for 16 months. The conditioned on Cacao, Toasted Coconut and a very subtle amount of Madagascar Vanilla.

Thanks to my friend Chris for this one. 16oz can poured into 12oz tulip. Poured the expected solid black color with no head.
The aroma had the scent of a good base beer, then notes of booze and wood floated in.
Same on the tongue; solidly made base, with the booze and wood complimenting the beer, not overpowering it.
The body was fairly typical, although a bit lighter than I prefer, smooth, and had a medium-sweet finish.
Drinkability was good, and easy brew to down.
Overall, a pretty nice take on the style. Worth trying if you see it.

Doesn’t have the viscosity that I like to see from smaller breweries like this (probably the barrel-aging), but it does have the unrefined rawness of loose coconut floating in the beer when it’s poured. It’s so balanced, with the perfect amount of oaky barrel, coconut sweetness and baker’s chocolate bitterness.
