Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, light to medium golden amber with a fine, three finger white head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and dank hops, herbal dankness, orange, grapefruit and mixed stone fruit. Flavor is pale malt with mild caramel, dank and citrus hops, reefer dankness, grapefruit, orange and mild mixed light stone fruit; a little tropical fruit in the finish with some dank and citrus rind bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant Northwest style IPA with lots of citrus as well as the promised herbal dankness. I'm a fan of the latter and although this is somewhat subdued, it adds an interesting component to the hop flavors. Nice finish and worthy late in the year tribute to 4/20.

can into glass
Medium amount of frothy white head. Medium, nearly clear, orange with a tiny golden tint, for the look. Slightly pungent, orange peel, herbal and nearly sulfurous tint to the smell, Sharp, grapefruit and a little orange peel flavor, with a fairly full bodied, medium toast, caramelized malt base. The heavy citrus bite lasts into the finish, but mellows out by then.

This pint can has no discernable name on the label, just a big fish that looks a bit like a discus. It does say it's a West Coast IPA brewed with our daer buds at Chucks Hop Shop GW, but it pours like a thick, hazy, NE IPA or milkshake IPA. Full on pulpy grapefruit juice in appearance, loaded with clouds of white foam. Fresh pineapple aroma, maybe some papaya. Flavor mixes tropical punch in with some more traditional piny NW IPA hop profile. There's enough bitterness to enjoy this as a proper IPA, but still quite a lot of juice... enough that it doesn't quite feel substantial on the tongue. Still really enjoyable and worth seeking out.
