Brewed for our close friend Greg Heath celebrating 20 years building his custom steel Donkelope bikes! This is a traditional strong, dark, malt forward lager with a more pronounced hop profile to balance out the higher abv, sweetness and toasted maltiness.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my .5L dimple mug.
The beer pours a bright clear golden color with a fluffy bleached white head of 1 cm. This foam fades to almost nothing soon after the pour. Several active fine streams of carbonation rise to the surface.
The aroma is a bit of grainy malts and some light sweetness and cereal notes. Maybe a little bit of an herbal tea hop character, but no booziness.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture, maybe a little syrupy feel to the beer. Carbonation is fine and fairly soft on my palate.
Flavor is similar to the nose, with grainy malts, cereal hits and here a little bit of light fruitiness. HOps come through on the finish with a bit of a tea and spicy character. Still not boozy anywhere. I end up drinking my mug fairly quickly and enjoy this beer. its not an overly complex brew, but is something I enjoy drinking.
