An English Style Barleywine conditioned in Woodford Reserve Barrels for 16 months. This barleywine is a blend of two bourbon barrels, carefully selected to showcase the flavors of bourbon, dried cherries, prunes and tobacco. The beer was brewed with 100% Marris Otter, boiled for six hours, and hopped generously to hold up to time.

750ml waxed and capped bottle into a BBT snifter.
Pours a dark mahogany. No head or lace. Thick, oily lace. Nose is booze, molasses, and brown sugar. Sweet, slick, almost custard-y. Beer opens brown sugar, molasses, and syrup. Booze in the middle. Hints of prunes and raisin. Lots of barrel. Touch of sweet soy sauce, tobacco, and leather in the finish. Body is full but somehow soft. Slick on the palate. Hot going down with a long, lingering, filmy aftertaste.
The body is perfect here and really serves to enhance the complexities in this one.
