Poured from tallboy can into pint glass, paired with sesame tofu my roommate made (4.2/5).

Pours an opaque yellow ochre color with a 2 finger retentive head, delightful little clouds of lacing, and some sediment settling at the bottom. Smells like overripe fruit, but I like overripe fruit. Flavor is funky with heavy buckwheat notes and strong malt and yeast character. Medium body, gentle carbonation. Don't think I've had a Grisette before, but this makes me want to try more. Good beer!

What a great beer. Never had Grisettes before. Had a fair number of farmhouse ales. It fits in there but elevates the style. Good malt and spice character. This one could be a regular

Love it. The world needs more grisettes and especially this one. The aroma and flavor has a strong sense of rusticness. Spicy yeast character is great.

NO can date, Come on Kyle!
Pours a large foamy frothy 1.5 finger pasty white head with great retention and soapy lacing, semi clear slight hazy golden tan color

Nose is quite nice, fresh cracked grain, gristy wheat and dough, crackers, grassy, lemongrass and a little fruity citrus, some nice fruity esters with pome fruit, citrus, and light grassy floral hops

Taste is strong surprisingly, lots of grainy malt, doughy cracked wheat, bready doughy notes but lots of gristy malt and some wheat characters, fair grassy both in malts and hops, lemongrass and more citrus and general fruity esters, light bitterness with some floral grassy hops, finishing crisp and dry, clean finish with lingering lemongrass hops

Mouth is med bod, soft lager like notes, med fizzy carb

Overall this was quite a nice grisette, exactly what I was looking for. Delicious and very well done. Cheers Honest Weight (and Kyle)!

Can from Craft Beer Cellar Belmont.
Pours a lightly hazy electric yellow with a decent sized long lasting frothy white head. Earthy peppery clove on the nose with a bit of bready and cereal maltiness. Flavor follows nicely. This is a pretty nice farmhouse ale.

500 ml bottle. $7.45 at the New Salem General Store after a nice hike at Gate 40 in the Quabbin to the ghost town of Dana.

A very lively looking clear gold. Sparkling white foam tower stands high, 4" high after a very slow pour into a Brewery Ommegang tall tulip glass.

Salty summer field grains... Various spicy, herbal and earthy aromatics from the multiple malted grains of: Barley, rye, wheat, flaked oats and raw buckwheat. A sour and green veggie funk thing pops out of the Saison yeast. Tangy and earthy!

Light and effervescent as F***!
Crisp, grainy, and I mean PACKED with earthy, grainy goodness. A heady amount of earthy based flavors... Wild and tangy from the remarkable Saison yeast charechter. Now, usually American brewers struggle to create a funky, unique or complex yeast strain.. this one is very traditional and crazy complex. Kudos Honest Weight brewers for that!
Crispy, clean and yummy. This is my kinda light, yet exciting beer.

Poured from an undated 500 ml bottle into the test glass.
A - Straw colored backdrop, excellent clarity displays the aggressive carbonation marauding towards the surface. A towering cap slowly collapses inward, with a consistency of well beaten egg whites. Lacing is cumulus in style.
S - Dusty grains, with a bit of wet hay in the nose. Rye and buckwheat add a nice earthy element to the aromatic. The saison yeast adds that white pepper kiss that is so delightful.
T - The flavors run a slightly different path, with excellent grains on full display, a surprising honey touch adds some nuance. The yeast again is present adding to the already spicy grain bill, with a very delicate touch of funky dust.
M - Soft on the palate (Oats), that North Quabbin water is a great resource to start with, The active carbonation plows the offering across the center. A delightfully dry finish with a bit of honeysuckle and fall grain are the reward.
O - A delightful Grissette with the skills of talented brewers on full display. The flavors are rustic, agrarian, and rich.
The feel is top notch as is the aromatics. This would pair well with runny cheese, and that's the next step
Cheers

500ml bottle. Hazy golden with big foamy head. Good typical grassy saison farmhouse smell. Taste is grassy, typical farmhouse saison flavors. Feel is a little bit foamy, but otherwise good. Overall, this is a good example of a farmhouse saison. Label says brewed with raw buckwheat, which I guess might be the sour (tannic?) grain taste. Well made I think, but I prefer the lighter flavor of other saisons - maybe it's the buckwheat that makes the difference.
