a fresh and drinkable light brett saison, my first beer from these guys and a very enjoyable summery take on the style, not heavy with wood, overly funky, or particularly rustic, clean for having some brett, and not too much fruit either, blood orange and apricot in this one i believe, but its more of a mellow generic fruitiness in there with the wheat, no fruit overload or incomplete secondary fermentation or anything, its relaxed, an accent, nice with the fruity and vinous brett, and the clean earthy malt in here. some belgian type esters to the fermentation profile as well, a white wine thing, some green pear, and then the apricot and orange. dry crackery funk to it, perfect with the light grain base, simple and new tasting, but also not immature either. carbonation is high, and the fruit is really only sweet in the middle, so this finishes fast and drinks easy overall. a nice recipe well executed, not overly complex, but it doesnt need to be, for how young it tastes, the flavors are well refined and well balanced. i enjoyed this a lot and could have had several glasses very easily. my first from these guys...
