Recurring Theme is a blend of young and mature mixed culture Grisettes aged in oak barrels. Delicate and refined without being overcomplicated. Notes of lemon peel, stone fruit, hay and earthy Brett. Lightly acidic and dry while remaining soft and approachable.

Bottle to tulip.
The appearance was a soft glossy semi-hazy golden yellow with a smoothly moving little white foamy head. It slid off to leave a sly film of lace spreading nicely.
The aroma had lemon peel and pulp up front. Sour notes of lemongrass, lime rind and vinous character moving into some sweet soft funk and peach skin. Earthy hay to woody barrel melds with some jolly rancher hints.
The flavor slightly leaned towards the sour side, some smooth Brett and grassy spice touch the backbone. Aftertaste had some dry hay/grassy character with vinous sour woodiness and lemon juice.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation with some stickiness but acceptable. Finish of slight vinous character to woody dry and a touch of stickiness.
Overall, what a fantastic beer in general or at least to me because I want to say it's a Belgian saison but also an American wild ale. Would pair well with some steak salad.

500 ml. bottle.
Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch pure white head over a slightly hazy, light golden body with scant lacing. Nose of citrus, bread, and a bit of spice. Taste mirrors nose fairly close with a nearly dry, almost crisp finish. Nice feel and overall, a good example of the Grisette style saison. Cheers to HWAB for this one!
