Ah yes, World of Echo, the long-awaited sixth installment of the venerable Ecco the Dolphin series from Sega. It's hard to believe that it's been over 20 years since the last...oh it's a beer?
It pours light orange with a thin bubbly head and a fait bit of sediment. Sweet apricot, lemongrass, and funky yeast are the main players on the nose. Very enticing. It tastes more tart than the smell was letting on, likely owing to the "mixed culture" that the label advertises. The yeast take the reigns here, creating a satisfying goaty profile, while apricot and wheat playing supporting roles. I detect a note of spice (cinnamon?) as well, although I may be imagining things. The feel and carbonation are medium and fit the style.
Very agreeable. I would have again, if it weren't for the $7.50 price tag. I look forward to the sequel: You Only Echo Twice.
