in independent categories this is good. however, as an oat beer it leaves a little to be desired, and as a saison, it is not all the way there in terms of the yeast profile. good not great as they say. hazy, even milky creamy dense and thick, heady though, if you are going to be this sediment heavy at least you are heady and lively! the oats do more for the appearance than they do for the flavor though. soapy looking, but more of a breakfast flavor, sweet at an instant, and then weirdly bitter from hops a second later. the yeast leaves something to be desired for me, but i may be being critical. its belgian in a sense, but also cooler fermented and aiding in some of the comforting feelings this brings. i need more yeast rustic whatever than i get here, but its creamy feeling and hearty in a way we do not often see in the style. overall this needs a little work, but there are some fun bits too that make this a little memorable. super thick, less yest driven than it could be, but a cool beer all the way around. their sour stuff is better, but this is better than passable...
