I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery. There must be quite a difference between the 2016 and 2017 Cheer recipes, given the reviews and the fact that the 2017 batch is 6.6%.
Appearance: rich, dark, hazy brown with a finger of frothy tan foam. I like it.
Smell: chocolate, cherry and just a hint of tang. Right up my alley!
Taste: the cherry from the aroma isn't present in the flavor, but there is a great yeast-induced fruitiness. It sort of tastes like an imperial schwarzbier, for lack of a better description. It really works for me.
Mouthfeel: lightish body but with a big carbonation and satisfying creaminess.
Overall: as I said, this beer really appeals to my taste. Great stuff.
