Handsome dark reddish amber with plenty of foam in the nonic. Grainy with a hint of buckwheat and tasting of roasted barley. A light body but mouth-filling substance. It's seriously malty with a a little sweetness.
This is an interesting and highly quaffable malty brew. Happily it's less bitter than some of the more ambitious American ESBs. This one is just rich and grainy with a modest bitter aftertaste. From the 32 oz crowler can filled a week ago-- doesn't seem to have done it any harm-- at the Bothell brewery restaurant.
