Wet Amarillo IPA
It’s true. Green IS our favorite color. It’s just so versatile. It can be bright, it can be light, it can be dark, it can be camouflage, it can be neon, it can be almost grey or brown but not really, or it can be unquestionably...green. Where are we going with this...nobody knows. Amarillo is Spanish for “yellow” though. And, yellow and green are pretty close in color. AND, this beer was brewed with GREEN AMARILLOS from Virgil Gamache Farms to the tune of 18# per barrel - pretty crazy, huh? So here it is - in all it’s fresh and wet and dank and citrus glory.

16oz can (dated 9/29/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a very hazy dark yellow color with almost two inches of white head that long lasting retention and very light lacing.
A big blast of hops (the website says Amarillo, which is among my favorite hops) hits the nose right upfront. Citrusy with a touch of mustiness. no real grain/malt profile.
Fairly well similar on the tongue, but at first I thought there was a smoke aspect. Well, after a few more quaffs, there was a definite smoke (likely due to the weather and fire situation in the Yakima area this year) component. i found it to be a pleasant addition, YMMV.
The body was smooth and light, with a semi-dry finish.
Drinkability was good, I might shoulda grabbed a couple more cans.
Overall. a pretty nice FH brew. Hopefully it's brewed again so you can try it.

Canned 9.23 in the Pacific Northwest , opened 10.13 overlooking Plymouth Bay
Hazy golden yellow , two finger rocky white foam cap , good retention after five minutes , settles to an island with grasping rings , spotty lacings
Aroma is lemon citrus, tangerine, lemon rind
Taste is lightly lemon , dank finish , fresh hoppy taste
Good sudsing , semi dry finish , gentle hop bite
Good beer

16oz can served in a big snifter. Bought it at the brewery yesterday. Dated 09/23/21.
Pours a fairly clear light yellow with a big creamy head. Head collapses slowly into a thick clumpy mess. Smell is primarily lemon pith.
Taste is leaning in that direction -- lemon zest, lemon pith, but with a very light grainy sweetness and a lot of green resin.
Mouthfeel is light, clean, and dry. Very nice.
