Canned version - pale yellow with brewery in bold script, "brewery and Hop Farm" and an orange ball fading off the can bottom.
It pours a medium orange -amber color, very little head or retention. Opaque and hazed, it tosses a quick head of tiny bubbles when swirled.
The aroma is creamsicle - like - sugar dusted tangerines, hints of honey and lemon butter and a subtle malt sweetness.
The flavor follows the nose adding a medium bodied creaminess that balances the hop character that asserts itself right up front. Again with the subtle caramel malt sweetness that underlies the interesting hop flavors and different levels of bitter bite. It tastes like a wet hop ale, fresh and grassy with a sweet / tart spritz of biting a fresh tangerine.
I'm usually not a fan of citrus forward IPA's but this does it right and with unique hop complexity that meshes with the malt not beat it back.
Hefty at 8.4% the alcohol is deftly folded into the mix making this very quaffable.
Nice to know there is a another good little brewery just up the Queens Highway.
