The beer pours a decent white and somewhat creamy and a tiny bit foamy head that takes a while to dissipate. The beer itself is a clear gold color with no other shades. The beer is pure gold. The beer has a strong resin note to it with a bit of earthy spices and a hint of bready and sweet malt to balance out the hops. The resin notes continue in the taste in addition to a bit of grapefruit taste as well. The hops are mixed with a tad of earthy spice and malt sweetness. The taste also has a slight watery taste to it.
The mouthfeel is fairly smooth and a tad watery but is still pretty good. Biting carbonation but still smooth. Overall, a fairly good version of the Dry Stack.

On tap at the Publick House.
Comes to the table a slightly hazy light golden color with a decent sized head. Aromas of earthy pine resinous hop with an earthy spicy edge. Light bready maltiness rounds this out quite nicely. Lightly bready malt flavor with lots of earthy spicy pine hop flavor mixed with pepper and yeast. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Really nice hoppy saison I quite enjoyed this one.

Appearance - Nice 1 inch head when poured into a beaker glass, which dissipated into a bit of froth on the top and sides initially, then little to no head, delicate lacing. Color is a medium translucent orange.
Smell - fresh and citrusy, but not as strong some of Trillium's dry hopped beers
Taste - Nice back end bitterness that lingers and as usual with Trillium's dry stack series -eminently quaffable. I thought the bitterness of this one really pushed into further into the ale side of things, and away from the Belgium side of things - not in a good or bad way - but I'm just seeing less of a Belgian influence here
Mouthfeel - medium - solid but chewy, light but not water
Overall - love the dry stack series and will be heading down there this week for Number 8 - I can't say really whether one is better than the other - they're all just good solid drinkables that I will buy again and again, and only wish they would decide on one to make it part of their standard rotation
