Miles Away, brewed in collaboration with J. Wakefield Brewing in Miami, FL, is an American sour wheat ale fermented with J. Wakefield's house lactobacillus strain and Trillium's native mixed culture before being aged in wine barrels and re-fermented with passionfruit and guava. The result is an incredibly refreshing, fruit-forward wild ale reminiscent of a tropical cocktail. Pungent passionfruit and guava aromatics paired with an intense, thirst quenching tartness. Perfect for a hot summer day and leaves you dreaming of a beach miles away from home!

Had a single draft at the new Trillium location in Canton. I am not sure how much it cost. My thirty eighth brew from these guys. This tasted good after a hike in nearby Blue Hills, but did not stand out.

This one pours a slightly hazy orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells vinegary and acetic, but also fruity. I get mostly sour passionfruit in that arena, with a little bit bit of guava.
This is just way too sour, way too acidic, and just very harsh. The interesting fruit character is not enough to overcome at the acetic and intense sourness here.
This is light bodied, and definitely a slow sipper. It's not really drinkable, at all.
This is easily one of Trillium's weaker beers. It just doesn't work for me.

Slightly cloudy light yellow with a thin white collar.
Smell is toasty and Gose-like with clear and piercing passionfruit and passionfruit seeds, mango and orange.
Taste is sour and sharp of passionfruit and acetic oak with toasted sesame and lemon flesh. I do get a little forgiving yogurt in the aftertaste.
This has a big froth but light body with a semi-dry finish.
