We teamed up with session beer zealots Notch Brewing to bolster the foundation of Trillium's lager brewing aspirations. The Notch team has planted a flag in the art of brewing session styles from Europe, while also experimenting with how to introduce American, hop forward flavors into these classic styles. We were honored to be asked to participate in Notch's Guest Brewer initiative and we jumped at the chance to ratchet up our lager pilot brewing efforts with the experienced crew in Salem. The result: "I Predict A Riot" an American Pale Lager that marries a soft Citra hop centric aroma and flavor on top of a satisfying lager backbone.

I Predict A Riot American Pale Lager presents a slightly hazy, deep golden hue. An inviting nose leads with citrus, slight floral aromas, stone fruit, and honeysuckle. Soft bitterness, light earthy malt, mild citrus flesh, and a subtle honey richness rounds out a well-balanced palate. We love this beer and hope you do too!

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, C-15, Dextrine
HOPS: Citra
YEAST: Bavarian Lager Yeast

Fresh growler filled today, I was so excited for this as I love lagers and this fell way short of expectations
nose is nice a subltle fruit and spice with some sweet malt. But the taste and feel and is where it falls short, I get a some butter/ diacetyl only describe as a slight slicks in a unappealing way

Dang that Mosaic! Can’t believe I’m drinking a Lager. The nose on this beer is just great. Don’t let the “Lager” style deter you. Very solid beer by 2 excellent breweries.

Favorite Trillium beer since I first tasted PM Dawn. My palate has been worn down by the self-inflicted onslaught of hopped up IPAs and it has grown weary of ales. IPLs, for whatever reason, still sing to me and this collab impresses, for sure.

Golden body with a touch of cloudiness that's brings unexpected clarity for a Trillium beer. Nice lager-esque soapy white head resting atop the body.

Aroma is wonderful: pine, zest and citrus hops. Slightly floral, moderately bitter and big citrus resting atop a toasted grain chassis. Mouth watering.

Taste is right there with citrus zest, pine, pineapple and dried mango followed by a doughy punch. Love the cascade of flavors.

Dry, appropriately bitter, sharp citrus - pure gold.

An American Pale Lager. Citra hopped. Citrus zest, orange, melon, tangerine, honeysuckle and grass. Simple grain malt profile. Super clean, crisp and lively. Light bodied and a bit floral. Really solid!

Growler purchased from the source in Canton, MA.

This one pours a very slightly hazy dark-ish golden yellow, with a small head, and a good bit of lacing.

This smells very floral, with some honey, grassy hops, orange, and vibrant grapefruit. The aroma on this is really nice and really fresh-smelling.

The taste is similar. It's a simple and clean hoppy lager, with a refreshing and lightly bitter hop backbone, with a light honey malt character, and some wheat on the back end. There's light fruitiness, with grassy and floral hops dominating the hop picture.

This is light bodied, crisp and super clean, with a good level of carbonation.

Trillium is obviously not known for their lagers. With Notch on their side, however, they're able to create a really tasty beer.

32 oz. growler fill

Pours mostly clear golden yellow with a creamy frothy white foam head with good retention. Smells like fresh citrus and tropical fruits, big mango, peach, pineapple, passionfruit, guava, grapefruit, orange citrus, lime, lemon, some bready crackery biscuity malt, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Taste follows with fresh grapefruit, orange citrus peel, citrus pith, lemon, lime, mango, peach, pineapple, passionfruit, guava, bready crackery biscuity malt, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-full bodied, creamy and smooth with crisp moderate carbonation. Overall a really great hoppy pale lager.
