Poured from a can (8/23/19) into a small glass taster

L: medium/dark orange brown with zero head or lacing

S: punch in the face with passionfruit, guava and citrus quickly follow. Some vanilla, more of a general smooth sweetness

T: lots of citrus immediately with some bite. Passionfruit nose falls to the background, flavors sharper here than the nose. Finish is very abrupt

F: thin, low carbonation. With lactose would have expected something fuller and smoother

O: a delicious beer that has clearly been hiding in the back of my fridge (gift from a friend back in September). The nose really blew me away, taste and feel left something to be desired. Really solid, 7 months post canning

Look - Hazy, dark orange with short-lasting head, just some light white bubbles remaining.
Smell - Citrus, vanilla, and a little funk.
Taste - Lots of citrus mixed nicely with stone fruit (I believe guava). As it warms, sips start sweet on the tongue, then I get a light tart as it goes down. The vanilla and lactose balance the tart well, giving it a creamsicle quality. I'm enjoying it - reminds me of a frappe IPA.
Feel - It's brewed with lactose, so that softens the tartness one might otherwise expect from a sour. For all of the flavor and the ABV, it is much lighter in body than I anticipated. I'm not perceiving any alcohol for the size.
Overall - An excellent sour/frappe IPA, full of fruit flavor and a tart finish.
