In our first year as a brewery, we faced many formidable obstacles that required resilience, tenacity, and camaraderie from our team. To celebrate the sense of spirit exhibited to overcome these difficulties, we brewed Mettle - a Double IPA featuring an intense dry-hop of Amarillo and Citra. In the years since, we've released a few interpretations on that original recipe, from Black Mettle to Death Mettle, but it never received our classic doubly dry-hopped treatment; until now. Increasing our hopping rates to levels that only a select few beers in our portfolio receive, Double Dry-Hopped Mettle pours a gorgeous deep straw color.

Pineapple, mango nectar, peach ring, and citrus zest all come together on the aroma offering a saturated, tropical bouquet. A pillowy, medium-bodied mouthfeel is complemented by a restrained bitterness.

Malt: American 2-Row Barley, Valley Danko, Rye, Valley Triticale, Valley Wheat, Dextrine, Dextrose

Hops: Amarillo, Citra, Columbus

Pours hazy, pale gold in color with one quarter inch head. Smells like fresh hops. Taste is fresh citrus, lime, orange, and nectarines. Heavy body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. Tastes super fresh. Very enjoyable sipper. Wow Trillium.

Poured on 7/3/2022, from a 16oz can that was purchased at the brewery on 7/2/2022, into a snifter glass.

A: The beer is a very hazy deep gold color, with a short white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains strong juicy citrus and tropical fruits, strong floral and dank hops, and light caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts out with a very strong burst of floral and dank hops bitterness that is very quickly followed by strong juicy and sweet flavors of citrus and tropical fruits. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings an excellent balance. The after-taste is hoppy and sweet.

M: Very smooth and very crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean for the style.

O: Very tasty, goes down extremely easily, not too filling, strong kick, excellent representation of style, this is a tremendous 2NEIPA hop & juice bomb to drink for as long as you can handle it.

16oz can dated 10/12/20.

Pours murky yellow with an inch of white fluff, minimal retention or lacing. Unripe peach, grapefruit, and dank citrus in the nose. Medium bodied with a yeasty, almost gritty mouthfeel. Pithy, dank hops on the palate with grapefruit and peach pulp. Finishes dry and fairly bitter with minimal malt.
