Collaboration with Fidens Brewing Company in Colonie, NY.
Pouring an eye-catching straw yellow with a heavy milky haze, Heavy Mettle Cut has an explosively aromatic nose revealing mouthwatering tones of blueberry, pineapple slices, and vibrant orange peel. Ripe tropical fruit flavors build on the palate, adding to a melange of papaya, lime, melon, and fresh-picked blueberries. With a pillowy mouthfeel, pleasant sweetness, and soft floral bitterness, Heavy Mettle Cut warrants more than one encore.

L - pours a mellow evening sunset haze. Minimal head, but there's retention in that couple millimeters of foam. That's something!
S - crisp papaya and fresh-baked bread. Maybe a hint of honey. Medium ripe orange and lemon complement the berry aromatics.
T - heavy on the honey. Booze heat warms the OJ spiciness as the berry savoriness seeps in. Sweaty dank balanced by teeth-gritting acidity. Pineapple zest rounds out this medley of deliciousness.
F - not terribly thick, but silky enough to provide a great backbone to the ABV and general heaviness.
O - quite a rich and sweet brew. Tastefully balanced with that classic Trillium rindy dryness. The honey and berry just jive so well. Reminds me of those berry-flavored honey sticks from the Big E. Fidens sticky dankness blends beautifully with Trillium's acidity. This is a great beer.

Had on tap at Canton. Pours hazy, bright gold in color with minimal head. Taste is honey, orange juice, and pineapple. Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet. Excellent ipa. Could do several.

Malty sweet tropical hoppy and orange-tangerine citrus nose on this one! Taste follows with a juicy-soft and sweet, slightly malty, and hoppy-dank bitter finish. I was expecting this to be a little more murky-soft on the palate since this is a collab with Fidens...and, I was expecting this to have more of a hop bite on the backend with the Trillium influence. It fell a little short in both categories IMO, but this is still good stuff!
