Pours a creamy dense almost 2 finger off-white head with good retention, plenty of sticky lacing, clear auburn to ruby color
Nose brings nice toasted biscuity malts, big toasted bread crust, a touch nutty, a hint of caramel and toffee, little chocolate note, sweet malt but not overly sweet, hint of malt-derived fruity esters
Taste brings more malts, toasted grains, rich bread crust, into a little toffee but not really caramel, a hint of biscuit and nutty, a little creamy note, rich toasted grain with a hint of chocolate as well, a touch of malt-derived fruity ester notes but can't pinpoint a specific fruit, light herbal hop bitterness, soft lager, drier finish but a touch sweet and sticky, lingering med-light bitterness
Mouth is med bod, soft lager, med to a tad higher frothy carb
Overall I'm impressed, this was a pretty well done Dunkel, which Trillium seems to struggle with beers that aren't NEIPA, Stout, or sour. So a good lager and dunkel even is interesting. That being said I would have liked a bit of a decoction mash malt depth and more richness in general, but otherwise good
