Pours hazy light straw yellow gold with a dense creamy lasting white foam head. Smells like heather flower, leather, barnyard farmhouse funk, lemon, citrus medley, orange, grapefruit, lime, yuzu, light toasty crackery bready grainy malts, clean peppercorn clove spice, and floral earthy herbal grassy dank pine. Tastes like lemon-limeade, citrus medley, orange, grapefruit, yuzu, peppercorn clove spice, heather flower, leather, barnyard farmhouse funk, light toasty crackery bready grainy malts, and floral earthy herbal grassy piney hops. Feels medium bodied, creamy slick with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a really nice wild ale.

The beer pours a fairly decent white foamy head that dissipates quickly. The beer is a clear and clean dark gold that has some brown notes. The smell has enough funk for my tastes that comes off a cherry tart. The funk is a bit light to be perfect but for some tastes it might work. While the funk dominates the nose, there are still earthy notes of the hops and a little bit of sweetness as well. The taste is a bit different. The funky tarty notes are stronger but still could be stronger. There are yeast notes in the aftertaste with a slight metallic tinge. The beer drink well and the carbonation is medium. Overall, an okay wild ale but the funk could be stronger than it is. The current strength is alright for uninitiated tastes.

Brief notes from Night of the Funk.
A-Pours rather cloudy. Small pour brings for a baby eggshell head.
S-Not really picking up much 'wildness' here. Maybe my nose and taste buds are sour-struck by now but this one is pretty bland. Light blend of yeast and maybe some hay.
T-I'm really getting some metallic notes here. Not sure why. Again, didn't pick up much in the way of tartness or funk. Just a reasonably yeasty Saison.
M-Drinks well enough. Softer carbonation.
O/D-I love Trillium but this one missed the mark for me. Didn't have much to really make itself memorable. Also, why am I getting metal in the flavor? All in all it wasn't terrible.
