Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Bright beaming amber orange, with excellent nearly crystal clear clarity for the body color. Ample amounts of fast rising carbonation reaching to a three finger light yellow to khaki colored head. Medium like retention and an almost champagne like appearance.
Nose has light touches of grapefruit and a malt presence that shows off honey and some degree of fruit like syrup flavors. Aroma seems to be a bit more on malt than hop unfortunately, but still comes off as pleasant.
Palate brings a bit more interest. Slightly bitter and oily pith notes of citrus which is a nice experience on first sip. Mid palate has some orange warmth followed with a nice bit of grapefruit citrus oil. Finishes with mild caramel notes and hints of herbal hop flavors as well. Bright with some mild bitterness, and faint touch of malt presence.
Some of the classic fruit flavors are a little indistinct and seem muted, but do appear. Seemed like it was going to be rather run of the mill but the palate showed up at least to make a surprising decent experience.

This is a big bold aggressive yet delicious West Coast DIPA.

From a growler, pours a very clear orange gold. Big white head leaves a substantial web of lacing, impressive for the ABV. Smell has citrus, tropical fruits and spicy herbs. Taste follows. Feel is a substantial medium, very nice. Excellent West Coast-style IIPA, reminds me of Pliny the Elder. Clean, very well-made beer.
