Vanish Beer

 

Pours a murky amber color with a poorly-retaining white head. The aroma comes across as being absurdly acidic - notes of lemon and Greek yogurt seem overpowering. I don't pick up much vanilla, either. On the other hand, citrusy hops are somewhat prevalent. This could go horribly awry actually tasting it, but it doesn't have a bad nose at the end of the day. Now that I'm actually tasting it...eh??? I mean...it hasn't gone horribly awry. Make no mistake though...this is disjointed and weird in general. Initial flavors of citrusy and slightly dank hops are noted, along with some cream. The finish is heavily vanilla forward. Not a good vanilla finish, either - it's kind of chemical and overly sweet. It feels slick going down the palate, with a moderate sweetness, but also a crisp sharpness that allows it to go down easily. Carbonation is medium. While not as bad as bubseymour suggested, I wouldn't call it good, either. It's muddled, incoherent, and just plain all over the place. This is one I won't be buying again, that's for sure.

I’m a huge fan of Vanish and not a fan of lactose and vanilla IPAs. This beer tastes horrible to me.
