Ultimately there isn't much to make this stand out. It doesn't go beyond slightly bland from start to finish, but it's not offensive, so I can't rate it harshly. Still, there are better true 3's. 2010/07/21

An interesting brew with a hint of spiciness. 2010/11/05

The appearance of this beer is hazy yellow. The aroma is spicy with only a little bit of floral hops. The taste is sweet and with some clove and Belgian yeast spiciness. Medium body and with fairly intense carbonation. Overall, an easy to drink Saison.

It's sort of an orange yellow colour, kind of like Chinese gold. Topped with a half finger of whitish head that fades fast. Moderate, large bubbled, soda like carbonation, clear and filtered.

Smells of, lol, wet dog. Cardboard, Belgian Phenols, caramel and apples. Very kids soda like.

The taste follows the nose completely, the wet dog coming in at the end. Slightly more balanced and smooth than I was expecting from the nose though.

Has a very light body and is very much like a soda in it's carbonation.

I got this one in Kunming, China, and I'm drinking it in Chang Mai Thailand this longest day of the year, June 21, 2017. What can I say? Very light, very soda like, this brew is well named.

When I think of a farmhouse ale, I imagine something with a nice yeasty character and some spice on the nose and palate. It should have a medium mouthfeel, nice head retention, and a pleasant aftertaste with some lingering spiciness. It should not have an overpowering malt presence that detracts from the other characteristics. This one does not measure up by any of these criteria. I'm thinking this is not bottle conditioned, as the flavors, aromas, and carbonation seem quite underdeveloped. It's more like a simulation of a farmhouse ale than an actual one.

Poured from a 16 ounce can, it was light straw in color, some haze, with no head unless poured down the middle of the glass. Even then, it dissipated rapidly leaving nothing.

A hint of fruit in the nose invites a sip but some corn in the background.

Tasting some slight sweetness , very little farmhouse and a refreshing, almost citrus note that is palate cleansing.

Thoroughly enjoyed this beer on a warm spring afternoon.

Pours hazy yellow with a white head, which has poor retention and leaves no lacing. The aroma corn, grain, and some sweetness. Not pleasant.

If anything, it tastes worse than it smells. This is supposed to be a farmhouse ale? There is corn, grain, some sweetness, and some lemon tartness. Doesn't taste like a farmhouse ale at all.

Light bodied with fizzy carbonation. Nothing to get excited about, and not worth trying again.

Slightly sweet with some citrus notes and a bit of a wheat taste to it i kinda expected to be a bit cloudy. Definitly not bad for the price. This is one of the better ones to come out of the minhas brewery.

Pours a rustic orange with h a one finger white head that the sissapates quickly. Has a very sweet, Rainey smell. A very sweet malt taste. There is not much money re a Han sweetness happening here. Is an easy drinker. Less than average but not awful. I could drink a few if I had to.

Bunch of haters! I visited their brewery and sampled a wide variety of their many craft beers. I left with a case of "Lazy Mutt" which is very drinkable. It does finish "a little "chamganey" but I like that.

Bottled and possibly bottle conditioned
Pours a slightly hazy cloudy golden body with big foaming white head that retreats but pretty much sticks around

Second to last one from the tour variety pack...
Poured into shaker pint; golden straw color with a half-finger clear white head that fades in seconds to a fizzy film of bubbles fed by small, lively carbonation.
Smell is almost the same as all their other ones; smells like light corn and sugar, but it does have a vinous, champagne-like scent.
Taste is all corn and sugar, nothing else. Same sickly-sweet Minhas finish, the vinous quality of the smell isn't present at all in the taste. This is NOT a saison.
Mouthfeel is thin; the carbonation approaches saison but doesn't reach the proper level.
Overall, it's sugary corn-water, that's all this is. If you like generic cheap beer, you could probably stomach this, but if you're looking for a saison, stay away from this one.

Purchased as part of a mix six...split the bottle with my sister-in-law:

A=Medium to light golden, with a bit of murkiness and perhaps a slight greenish tint. Head was white and not very dominant.

S=I didn't notice much...perhaps a cut grass smell.

T=Citrus and very crisp...rather sweet and creamy as well. Reminded me a bit of Blue Moon's Belgian White.

M=Moderate carbonation, perhaps a bit slippery, but overall very drinkable.

O=One of Minhas' better offerings...I would definitely drink again, but probably not buy as it is not quite as good as others out there.

Appearance: Pale golden yellow with a very light haze. The head is well not to be seen after forming for a few seconds.

Aroma: Grainy, buttery, corn husk, light breadiness, lemon zest in the tail end.

Taste: Faint pear, buttery, very grainy, corn, brediness not too much in the citrus end and a slight bit of sweetness from the malts. The mouthfeel is very smooth but on the watery side.

Notes: Not very tasty quite a ways away from being a saison. Cheers.

I don't know where this came from, since I don't think Minhas even distributes to the state much less Toledo; here it is regardless, so why not?

It looks unfiltered, with a deep haze set into a pale yellow brew. Busy carbonation keeps up a head that struggles and would be lost without it, and spotting is left somewhat weakly but amply enough here and there.
This beer is a bit weak, lacking depth as though the interpretation of a light style is to make it weaker. There's not much to it besides a lame base of pale malts, some dusty earth and a bit of lemon. I can't say the sweetness isn't interesting. Unfortunately, there's nothing either Belgian or Farmhouse about this beer.
Interestingly, for such a weak beer and lacking character, the feel almost reaches what it ought to be. Crispness is a little too hard as the carbonation required to keep anything going bites too hard, but there's a smoothness under it that makes it flow well besides that.

This poured out as a slightly hazy looking yellow color with a quick fading white head on top. The smell of the beer gives off some slight aromas of fresh grains and some malt sweetness. The taste of the beer is very one dimensional, it's grainy upfront and then settles into a pure wheat malt finish... no bitterness at all, no spice notes or funk, nothing that symbolizes a "Farmhouse Ale". The mouthfeel is thin and doesn't give off any forms of complexity. Overall this really shouldn't be called a Farmhouse Ale, I understand why they call it that but it's not actually that at all. This should be considered more of just a basic wheat beer instead.

The beer poured a hazy light gold and did not produce much head.
The little head there was disappeared imidiately. No lacing.
No distinct smell, maybe some malt.
Taste is very plain. Mostly malt, some lemon flavor, yet I cannot make out any hop character.
Not much more to this poor brew.

I picked up 3 varieties of Minhas beers last week so I will be having a Minhas morning today to kick off my weekend. Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, a bit musty, some medicinal odor. Taste is yuck, an off metallic taste, some cough syrup, maybe a touch of plastic. WTF? Feels light in the mouth and overall is the worst beer of this style that I have ever had.

An odd 11.16 oz. twist off bottle poured into a wine glass. Pours golden with a light haze. A thin cap hits the hills in about 20 seconds.

Nose of neutral cereal with a hint of sweet yeast note. Not much aroma and no notable hop presence. Yeast notes are quite subtle as well.

Flavor again of pale malts with a bit of lemon oil though the lemon seems to be as much additive as hop driven.

Feel is a bit flat as the carbonation is rather light to begin with, fizzing out of the liquid too quickly.

Overall a bust with minimal yeast and farmhouse notes. Not really too far from Simpler Times though a bit drier on the finish. Improves just a touch with some warming as for yeast presence.

Slightly cloudy yellow, head disappears entirely.

Predominately corn in the nose, with a musty note.

Bleh. Sweet sweet corn, band-aid, and metal. I've never tasted bleach, but I'm getting a chlorine note also.

Mouthfeel thin, flat.

What the hell goes on at this brewery and how can homebrewers around the world put them to shame? Avoid at all costs.

Served in a tulip glass)

A- This beer pours a slightly hazy yellow body with a lumpy white head that last a good bit and a sea of swirling bubbles to support it.

S- The soft sweetness is very clean with a cooked corn aroma that grows stronger with each sip.

T- The slightly sweet big cooked corn DMS is only challenged by the watery taste before the dry finish. The corn note lingers.

M- The medium light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz and no alcohol heat noticed.

O- This beer has lots of corn flavor and watery flavors but nothing else. There is no yeast character or hop character and it was hard to get through the whole 12 oz.

Bottle to glass. Chilled.

Appearance: the nice golden color is spot on, but that may be the best feature of this beer. Minimal lacing, quickly dissipates. Cloudy, but not too cloudy for the style. No sediment, etc.

Smell: faint hay/wheat with a few notes of corn... really lacking in this area.

Taste: You may grab some wheat or corn on the back-end, but up front, there's little. Bitterness is below average for a saison, but the sweetness isn't far off.

Mouthfeel: Watery.

Overall comments: the beer is drinkable on a hot day in the middle of the summer, when light and cold are positive attributes. Even then, there are much better contenders in that category. This really lacks many of the hallmark qualities of a solid farmhouse. I wouldn't buy again, nor would I recommend to a friend.

Poured from screw-top bottle into tall glass.

Appearance: Cloudy, with light golden color. Low amounts of head on the glass.

Smell: Slightly musty, with kind of an old smell to it. No overwhelming notes.

Taste: Nothing strong - for a farmhouse ale, there's almost no hop or citrus flavors in the ale. Much too heavy on the malt, but no strong alcohol or additional flavors that I'd expect to distinguish the beer.

Mouthfeel: Light - not too dissimilar from a lager.

Overall: Bought this on the (admittedly excellent) gimmick that their "six-packs" actually have eight beers in them, which is tremendous. Aside from that, I'd never buy this again - I think I'll try to turn it into beer bread in the coming months.

Reviewed from session notes.

For better or worse, last week I decided to ignore all outside warnings about Minhas and do some sessions as well as dig up any previous Minhas tasting notes I'd already written down... for the sake of unbiased science and in the spirit of giving all brews at least a fair try.

Looks really quite cloudy and turbid with yeast, not that there is anything wrong with that. Faded straw color, just a thin collar of off-white foam for a head despite an aggressive pour, aroma is at first a suggestion of partly spoiled lemons but thankfully? gets replaced by a cooked sweet corn aroma as the brew warms up in the glass. Yikes. Flavor is mostly dominated by cooked sweet corn to my palate with aftertastes of odd metallic notes....watery texture and body which is a startling contrast with the turbid appearance.
Overall I can't really recommend this one.

Poured into a very nice Duvel glass

Appearance: Cloudy light golden look. Seemed to look like it could be a decent beer.

Smell: Light notes of citrus with little other notes that I can't even name because they are so absent, your not able to put a name to them

Taste: Drinkable. I was able to drink it down, but probably will not buy again. Not a pleasant taste, but atleast not a god awful taste. There is still another beer I have had that is still the #1 beer of the worst.

Mouthfeel: Cloudy and a nuisance. Its light and you just chug it down to get rid of it.

Overall: If your looking to try just about every beer out there then try it so you can use it as an example of beers not to drink. If your just looking for a good beer to have after work and/or after other events/things then stay away.

12 oz bottle.

This beer pours a slightly hazy pale golden colour, with a very thin film of uh, foamy, I suppose, off white head, which leaves a low skinny ring of lace around the glass in its 'wake'. It smells of faint sweet wheat grain, some mild florals, and weedy hops. The taste is generic fruity pale malt, a twinge of wheat spice, and an edgy, but not strong, fruity funk, inoffensive at just the wrong time to be. The carbonation is fairly sedate, the body medium light in weight, a bit thin, but not unsmooth. It finishes offdry, the somewhat dead flower fruitiness persisting.

Not too shabby, considering the source. No obvious flaws, the saison qualities just on the heavily underwhelming side.
