750 mL mini-growler, provided by a very generous trader in B.C. Served slightly chilled.
Pours a turbid golden-apricot colour, producing a half-finger of loose, bubbly white foam that proves to be rather short-lived. Minimal lacing is produced, and other than a very thin collar, there are few other remnants. Nothing special visually, but hot damn is that a nice aroma - tons of juicy tropical fruit, including pineapple, mango, peaches, orange and grapefruit. There are also some minor hints of floral, grassy hops.
Yummy stuff, that's for sure, and very juicy-flavoured. Some light background grainy pale malt and honey sweetness melds beautifully with notes of pineapple, mango and peach. Notes of orange and grapefruit pith start to surface mid-sip, with light notes of pine resin, floral bitterness and fruity sweetness at the finish. The alcohol isn't really a factor in the flavour, but you can still tell it's a relatively strong IPA. Medium in body, with low-ish carbonation levels and a very smooth, somewhat soft, slick/oily mouthfeel.
Final Grade: 4.31, an excellent A grade. Machine Ales' Cloudkicker IPA is a very impressive hopped brew, especially out of such a young, upstart operation - and that's a good thing, too, because experience suggests that the IPA competition in B.C. is probably even fiercer than it is here in Ontario. This is an excellent strong hopped ale that I would likely select over a lot of the local alternatives, with a delectable tropical fruit-focussed flavour profile that I can't help but love. I'll have to remember this brewery's name; I think they are destined for great things. Thanks Farees!

A really good IPA. Cloudy, translucent appearance. Nose and palate are full of fresh and juicy mango, pineapple and peach notes. A restrained bitterness that is well balanced with some honey sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium with good hop resin.
