Another Grimbergen addition.
Pours a lovely deep purple, semi hazed body, with a decent head, which does dissipate within a swig or two. Some lacing, which makes up a touch for the evaporation.
Aroma is as you expect, forest fruits galore, but as with the kriek version of the same producer, a touch of sherbet about it.
Taste is good also, fresh forest fruits, blackcurrant being at the fore, mixed with a liquorice twist. Nice.
Feel is below par, while refreshing, this is definitely on the watery side, add to that a fizzy pop feel on the back of the tongue and it is only 3/5.
Overall, this is a worthwhile drink, but again a summer warm up special while your burgers are sizzling on the bbq before you pull out the big guns!
