This is a rich and tasty dark brew. Coconut? I don't know about tropical, but it's a pleasant concoction. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Platypus in Bend. Very dark brown foam and near dark brown brew.
Smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a rather sweet malty taste. Dark and deeply roasted malt plus a scratchy bitter tang at the finish. Coffee, yes, with a chalky aftertaste. I think this could be a little too sweet for more than a glass but it's a lovely mouthful.

On tap at the brewpub in Eugene.
A: a decent drk tan head leaves some sticky lacing. Opaque dark brown/black.
Aroma: mix of medium- and dark-malts with hints of coffee, dark chocolate, and dark fruits. .
Flavor: Les appealing than the aroma. Medium- and (mostly) dark-roasted malts with a faint note of spicy hops. Hint of black coffee. Faint trace of the coconut sugar.
Feel: medium+ body with medium soft carbonation. Smooth.
O: Rich, tropical version of the style, but less coconut presence than I would like.
