Three expensive bottles. The samples in the tap room were niiiice. Let’s pop this open & judge. 750ML bottle split with my wife.

The pour is black as the gates of Mordor. The nose is marshmallow, brown sugar, & more sugar. Then sugar. Damn. This smells sweet.

Lord Humungus – Barrel Aged Marshmallow & Vanilla is recommended by 4 of 5 dentists who want to take a vacation to Fiji next year. Sweet is an understatement. Brown sugar, white sugar, blue sugar & sugars that haven’t yet been identified flood the palate. Marshmallow! It’s evident & tasty. Faint rye to the point of vanishing returns, sweet vanilla. Thick. Sweet.

For those with a sweet tooth, this is our Everest. It’s sweet, did I mention that? The marshmallow adds a punch that separates this from the pack, though it’s neither complex nor complex. Excellent brew.

I wrote this in April of 2020, before I knew how big marshmallows in beer was going to get...

Solid blackness, slim brown ring of foam above.

In the nose: smoke, char, spice, much malt, vanilla and cherries.

In the mouth: Richness, molasses, thick, slick, sweet. Massive malt. Smoke. Bacon. Sausage. (?)
Outrageously rich, deep and sweet. Luxurious beyond compare. Spicy, malty, crazy. Keep this one for the good times.

"For us. For you. For the Wasteland." Wasteland was a good beer. Bring that one back!

Borne from the blood and fire of the wasteland. Lord Humungous is a one-of-a-kind Imperial Rye Stout that's made from over 53% malted rye, chocolate rye, and Caramel rye. This motor oil thick liquid was aged within the grains of a Rye Whiskey barrel for about a year then rested on copious amounts of Madagascar Vanilla Beans & marshmallows were added.

Vanilla, sure. But, marshmallows? Really, seriously, marshmallows? Come on, you guys...Come on.

On tap. Tan head with some lace. Black color.

This beer would have been insane if they had used bourbon barrels or a better rye barrel than the rye barrels they used. The barrels they used brought a big char, burnt rubber flavor to the beer that took away from everything else that was amazing. The marshmallow and vanilla were on point, but this is a rare case where barrel aging made the base beer worse. It still was really nice, but it had the potential to be a mega banger. Thick, fudgy, chocolate, and lots of nilla sweetness.
