Picked this up last week at ShopRite Liquors in Little Falls, of all places. Never heard of this and never had anything from Modist before, but this was an amazingly smooth and enjoyable IPA that was full of flavor, balanced, and oh-so-easy to drink from the get-go!
The pour to this was decent as this had a milky goldenrod hue that was plenty and uniformly cloudy, with a moderate head that topped off nicely and evenly. Not a lot of lacing was left behind as there was a hint of a ring just above the middle with some traces of suds along the bottom third of my pint glass. Lots of sweetness from milk sugar and body from the oats in the nose, with some exotic and tropical fruit underneath that. All of these, along with tangerine, cream, melon, cantaloupe, and pillowy, plush hops rounding out the mouthfeel. This was incredibly easygoing and easy to savor with just a hint of outdoorsy dankness from the Galaxy in the aftertaste, as the Sabro and Strata were in even proportion throughout. A subtle slickness and carbonation kept this light as this didn't last in my glass for very long!
How is this a great IPA with so little alcohol in it? It felt stronger than it was in actuality as I would have cracked another one open had there been more than one can here. No sediment at the bottom of the liquid as there was just a minimal burn in my throat once this fully went down. Couldn't read the date on the bottom but at this point who cares? Modist won me over with this as I'll be on the lookout for their other offerings the next time I'm in this store! Very nice first impression...

Can. White head with lace. Hazy golden orange.
Orange , cream, mango, papaya. Soft, juicy, creamy ipa. Tangerine citrus. Some melon. Very easy drinking and flavorful.
