Overall: A very nice release once again from Modist. Fantastic dark chocolate, dark grain flavors with some hints of Oak. Just like their Pilsner and Festbier oak series. This one has slightly less oak that is masked by the dark malt. Done extremely well, this one is clean, dry, and drinkable. (Rating: 4.12)

Can. Nice large tan head with lace. Caramel hued black color.
Toasted malts. Earthy and zesty hops. Caramel and toffee. The oak aged foeders don’t really show here. Has a smooth but faint bitterness mouthfeel. Light bodied. Solid!

16oz can, canned 11/02/2020.
nice looking beer, impressive head with a aggressive pour, last a while leaving plenty of lacing.
smell: roasted malt
taste: roasted malt, chocolate, micro hints of caramel. Plus Oak witch is rather faint and comes across like vanilla or marshmallow. Hint of floral hops near the finish when it gets warmer. rather neutral sweet and bitterness wise with both sweet and bitterness elements mixed in. Very smooth and easy drinking beer.
Feel: soft, velvety and slightly creamy mouth feel.
A nice beer, nothing heavy duty. but a good sippin or slamin beer. 4.09/5

16oz can. Bottom of can is stamped '11/02/20'.
Dark cola colored body, with a sapphire colored back lit edge. Pours with a light tan head, that sticks around as a moderate cap. Leaves an interrupted sheet of lacing on the non-sipping side.
Aroma is rich, dark roasted malts with caramel and chocolate. Close to a smoke quality from the oak aging.
Taste is chocolate and caramel, brought forth by the dark roasted malt. Definite smoke from the oak. Slight pine hop addition. No bitterness in the after taste.
Mouth feel is quite thick and creamy. Provides good coverage for exploring the flavors. Lower carbonation.
Aroma is the most impressive aspect, but the taste does catch up as it warms. Straight forward dark lager, no sourness.
