Straw yellow in color with thick white head. Nose is malty with a fairly strong hint of lime. Initial taste was also similar to lime then a bready flavor takes over. White pepper finish. Easy drinker.

Hazy pale golden body with a frothy finger of eggshell colored head. Inviting and intriguing aroma platter of biscuit malt, oak and limey hops. Sounds like it'd be odd, but it works. It hits the palate with a nice cracker maltiness that soon becomes a lingering melange of kiwi and lime. It begs another sip. Medium bodied with a nice prickle of carbonation. Quite drinkable. Will save the remainder of these for their tasty thirst quenching attributes....i.e., after bike rides.

16 oz can, date smudged, into a pokal.
L: SRM 3.5 Pours a heavy straw golden yellow with lush steady carbo bubbles, a 1/4" bright white head that has VG retention and recedes to a frothy skin & edge foam, moderately heavy lacing with thick banding.
S: Only lightly expressive with caramelized malts and a light hint of fruit.
T: Hints of lightly mixed fruits, an affable bready malt note, light citrus zest in the finish. There's a light sensation of nuttiness and a gentle sweet note in the middle. It is slightly pale.
F: Crisp, lightly juicy & soft medium-light bodied feel with a medium-length moderately drying finish.
O: Very easy drinking and has a slightly fruity taste with a lightly drying finish thanks to the dry hopping. It certainly appears to be mostly unfiltered. This is a thoughtfully and skillfully brewed Pils that is excellent in its style.

Canned 10/2022

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear (90% clarity) medium to pale golden color with a strong white head. SRM of 7. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of lemon citrus, floral hops, some pale malts underneath. Floral and hoppy. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong flavors of lemon citrus, floral hops, some tea notes. Pale malts with a slight earthiness underneath with some lingering tea notes. Clean and crisp. (3.75)

Feel: Medium bodied, strong carbonation pinches happy with a tea note, yet clean. (4.00)

Compared to Modist Just You Wait 4/2023: Pours darker, similar head. Milder aromas. More floral, citrus, tea hop flavors. Less earthy and oak cereal malt. Lighter, cleaner, and hoppier.
6/2024: Pours identical, stronger aromas. More citrus, tropical fruit. Less earthy, oaky flavors.

Compared to Hop Butcher After Rain 5/2024: Pours identical. Milder aromas. More earthy, smooht yeast. Less fruity and citrusy.

Compared to Drowned Lands River Birch 6/2024: Pours hazier, stronger head. Milder aromas. Less citrus, tropical hop flavors. More earthy and okay notes.

Compared to BlackStack Slopes 7/24: Larger head. Stronger aromas and flavors. More lemon citrus, less earthy bread malts. Clean.

Overall: Digging the oak-aged trend from Modist. This New Zealand Pils drinks hoppy as expected. Floral, citrusy, and ta flavors. Not much oak though. A good New Zealand Pils, but don't know that the oak did much of anything here. I preferred Just You Wait b/c more oak flavor. It's hoppy and floral/tea-like as described. (Rating: 3.90)

This pours a moderately clear dark corny yellow with 1" of eggshell head and good lacing. Nose is has malt and corn sweetness, but with a dry, grassy backbone. Taste is very solid, as it starts off with some sweet grain notes but is quickly balanced by with grassy, lightly bitter hop. Mouthfeel is crisp and smooth with a little bit of heft; still, this could easily be a nice session beer. Very happy with this and hope it's available throughout the summer (and maybe in 12 ouncers!).

A: The beer is relatively clear yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high dense white head that never completely faded away and left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of green grapes and limes are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of gooseberries and oak, the latter of which is most evident in the finish. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The aromas and flavors in this pilsner are delicate yet interesting and unique. The lager is very easy to drink.

16oz can with a date

A good pilsner, but I wish I had known it was oak-aged. It looks beautiful but drinks kinda rough because it has too much alcohol imo.

Everyone else I was with enjoyed this more than I so YMMV

Billed as a New Zealand Pilsner. Its pours a m,softly clear light golden color with a fresh white head and lacing. Smell was berries ,lemon grass and some biscuit grains. Taste has berry /fruit start it mixes with cedar, grassy hoops and wheat/malt. Mouth feel is crisp with some herbal lemon saison like qualities. Very tasty with low ABV . Good stuff.
