Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (15% clarity) medium and pale orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 6. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of tangerine, earthy grapefruit, with a resinous berry aroma and caramel and pine underneath. (3.75)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of earthy grapefruit, tangerine, with a bitter and dank pine note. Hints of caramel malts possibly. Mild to moderately bitter and dry. (3.75)
Feel: Medium-bodied, carbonation to match, and ultimately finishes clean and dry with a mild dank bitterness that lingers. (4.00)
Compared to Junkyard Werewolves at Luncheon 11/2022: Pours darker, hazier, Milder aromas. More dank and earthy. Less juicy and tropical. More bitter pine. More bitterness.
Compared to Portage Lost 40 11/2022: Pours darker, hazier, Milder aromas. More dank and earthy. Less juicy and tropical. More bitter pine. More bitterness. Dryer and cleaner.
Overall: A fairly dank NEIPA here. Almost subtends into the American IPA category. Dank, some bitter pine, but still enough juicy grapefruit and tangerine here. Leaned a little too earthy with pine than for a typical NEIPA. Good body and drinkability though. (Rating: 3.87)
