Brilliant amber-brown (“cola brown”) in color, topped with an off-white (light tang head.
Good head retention, excellent lacing.
Very neutral nose, which is very much appreciated. Notes of very light biscuit and caramel malt.
Nicely sweet (not cloying at all) on the first sip, great malt depth and character — very well balanced between the base and specialty malts.
A bit lighter in the body (especially for its strength), but that makes for incredible drinkability and even “dangerous drinkability”, although we know how to moderate, right?
An excellent job sample of the style. Very impressive!

Super solid and down the middle of the style road. Lots of great bready and nutty malt, with a good level of sweetness, and some mild spice, modest fruity esters, and faint floral hops. No crazy bells and whistles, not too sweet or spicy or sticky…just very solid and well balanced. Dry finish. Wow. Another great MN doppelbock…I feel spoiled.

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a medium to dark brownish orange with a fine, two finger, light khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dary caramel malt, brown bread, dates, raisins; malty. Flavor follows with dry caramel malt, raisins, dates, brown bread and crust; dark fruit and malt in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. An excellent domestic doppelbock that is very true to style, but has one of the best, most balanced finish of any I've had. Fine dark fruit character and flavorful malt. To top it off, this is a 4 month old can that has held up beautifully. I'm impressed, this is stellar; looks, smells, tastes and feels great. I just wish it had been named "Gifts of the Sacred Fatherator".

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Clear dark amber, good head.
Smell: Sweet, perfumy floral note.
Taste: Bready—like dark bread, nice sweetness, caramel, slight raisin/date note, a touch of root beer, good hefty feel.
Overall: A solid doppelbock, nice malty flavor without being cloying. Good winter beer to watch the snow fall.

Khaki head with lace. Clear copper color.
Caramel, toffee, bread. Dark dried fruits, apple skins, a bit of grassy/earthy hops, light bitterness, some abv showing. Smooth and traditional. Well done and to style.
