good flavors here on this one, but the texture isnt quite there, and next to some other really fine hefeweizens we had in florida last week, this was fairly forgettable, and one of the least impressive beers here overall. that said, its a plenty serviceable and drinkable brew. i just think the fruity esters from the yeast have run wild a little bit, this is more than suggestions of banana, its a full on basket of pears and apples and grapes, and i dont think there is quite enough of either the wheat malt flavor of body to make those yeast flavors seem appropriate at that level. more carbonation and the classic dry creaminess would improve this a lot. its lightness is a good and bad for me, i like it being so drinkable, and i do think the intricacies of the yeast are more on display in this lighter format, but its not quite balanced out right, at least for me and what i generally look for and prefer in the style. all of the beer here was great, dont get me wrong, but this was the least compelling of the lot we tried. some citrus in the finish is a nice touch, and its very clean too.
