On tap at brewery. Enjoyed with their fish and chips. Excellent.

Been a while since I've had a proper ESB.
This one pours a light copper, nice and clean with a creamy off white head. Decent lacing. Appropriate enough.
Caramel and apple cider dominate the aroma. A touch of honey before a floral hop finish.
And the flavour mirrors the aroma. It states with a sharp caramel sweetness. The apple cider follows as if directed to do so, but a slightly soapy taste interferes for a second before that expected floral finish gives a go just right.
Light bodied and crisp, with the slightest suggestion of creaminess. Well balanced with just a slight lean against the bitter fence.
Not quite your standard true British ESB, but a pretty good attempt nonetheless. Unfortunately, if I wanted an ESB, I'd still go for a classic. Cheers.
