This, the latest version to date, clocks in with a 6.5% ABV, but it's relatively the same beer. Two twelve ounce cans were emptied entirely into a clear glass liter mug. The pours produced a proper off-white head that has but a tint of the color of the brew. That is light and bright copper-amber and just slightly cloudy. There's a solid aroma of malt and layered IPA hopping. Its taste is closely balanced, slightly hoppier than malty. So, it's pleasantly bitter and carries enough malt for a little sweetness and a nice body. The hops are piney and earthy, drying out the finish in bitter fashion. The mouthfeel is a little light, but adequate. The lacing inside the glass is erratic. Overall, this is a very pleasant change of pace from the current market saturation of overly starched hazies. It's full tasting, sufficiently bitter and brings just enough backbone in more of a West Coast style than any other type.

Pours an oxidized-looking dark bronze-orange color, somewhat murky, with two fingers of creamy, light tan head. Good retention and thick, sea foam lacing.
Orange, pine and caramel malt in the nose — the way Americans IPAs should be.
Similar flavors joined by strong tea leaf bitterness. What, did we cross the pond to England or something?
Light to medium bodied with some very modest zip to the carbonation.
I appreciate strong bitterness, but find it pretty acerbic here. A touch more sweetness or a piney bitterness and this would be chef’s kiss.

This is a rather old school American IPA with citrus and pine on the nose and flavor and a resinous end. Nice bitterness and medium body. An easy and satisfying beer to drink.

Beautiful copperish color, almost clear, great head retention and some nice lacing. Their beers have some serious head and lacing every time it seems.
Nose is a nice combo of malt; almost a little toasty, citrus rind, little bit of sap and an underlying very subtle fruity note.
Taste leans into the rind and sap; with a nice malt presence but not overpowering; shows very nicely in the aftertaste. Very well balanced and to style.
Medium body; nice soft carbonation; dry resiny dry hop feel on the tongue, nice medium biting bitterness.

-enjoyed on tap and from cans this week. The brew pours a clear, deep amber with a 2 cm foam cap. The aroma is of earthy hops.
The flavor is a pleasant balance of malt and pine and orange zest from hops.
The mouthfeel is full.
I really like this one.

first rate beer from cape may nj enjoyed at stone harbor.
a) color is totally right - copper amber with an offwhite head that lasts and laces. Ala a great dales pale.
s) could offer more nuance, but plentiful enough: spicy, caramel nose with pepper, pine, orange peel.
t) follows the aroma but is a mouthfull, flavor packed. on offer are apricot, orange, lemon citrus tones, chocolate malt, in assorted salt-water taffy and gum drop candy flavors. along with fresh baked caramel swirl bread,
f) Full-bodied, smooth with nice peppery, finishing, tingle.
o) craft at its best, great discovery, taste vs dales pale, and other 6-7 abv IPA and apas.
