Haywire Twist With Berries

Reviewed less than a week after canning. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a murky, lovely magenta color with cranberry hues and a half finger of creamy, light pink had and sudsy lacing. The smell of delightfully fruity with abundant raspberry and blackberry and, as the glass warms it bit - blueberry. The taste bursts with fruit but it's tart and juicy - not overly sweet. Beneath the fruit there is a distinct wheat cracker malt that provides depth and dryness that keeps it from drinking like fruit juice. It's lite and crisp with lively carbonation and you barely notice the 4.9% ABV. Overall, kettle sours seem to be the rage this summer and Slack Tide has absolutely nailed this one. It's perfect for outdoor drinking on a hot summer day. I paired it with some sharp cheese and enjoyed it immensely.

 

 

-hazy, pink tap pour with a 1/2 cm foam cap and a lemon-grapefruit aroma. The flavor is citrus with a light, pleasant tartness and a smooth mouthfeel (wheat?) and a slightly dry finish. This is refreshing and quite tasty.
