This beer was brewed on our 3 BBL system by home brewer Sean Karge, winner of the Cape May Brewers Association IPA competition. Sean may be an amateur brewer, but this is no amateur beer!

12 oz. pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a slightly hazy, golden-straw color with a finger of creamy, milk-white cap and and a thick sheen of lacing inside the glass. A nice aroma of lemon, grapefruit, pungent resinous pine, and floral hops. It's a dank ale that opens with a solid malt base followed by tart lemon and strong grapefruit and pine needles. It has a very good balance of malt and citrus. Unfortunately, the hop bill isn't advertised. The hops are flavorful but only moderately bitter. As the glass warms the citrus really opens up. For a single IPA the feel is viscous and creamy with a pleasant level of carbonation and, if anything, it drinks above its 6.7% ABV. Overall, Livewell is a well-crafted, American IPA with a very good balance of malt and tart, citrus. It seems the recipe comes from a local home brewer. He or she can be proud of this ale.
