Pint pour at the brewery. Served in a plastic cup (due to COVID restrictions). It pours a dense, murky, dirty tangerine color with a creamy, bright white cap and thick lacing. It's smell is subdued but I can detect lemon, grapefruit, and lite floral hops. The taste opens with tart, bitter lemon peel and grapefruit rind. There is very minimal sweetness and I detected no berry or other sweet fruit from the Mosaic hops. The Simcoe and Moutere hops are bitter and biting at the finish and there is a hint of astringency. This ale has a thick, creamy mouth feel for the style with moderate carbonation, and it's very easy to drink at 5.5% ABV. Overall, Pot Hopper is not a complex APA but it is satisfying. Any fan of a bitter pale ale will enjoy it.
