Poured from undated can into a tulip glass. It pours a hazy, golden-orange color with a large, creamy, milk white head and thick, creamy lacing. Its smell features lemon, melon, and some other tropical fruit, as well as floral hops. The taste opens with lots of ripe honeydew melon, pineapple, mango, and tangerine with notes of lemon. There is also a hint of vanilla. The hop bill isn't specified on the website but no doubt the Kviek yeast adds to the fruitiness and gives it a hint of farmhouse ale. The hops bite hard at the finish and nicely balance the initial sweetness. This ale has a creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation and the 8.7% ABV is potent. Overall, Jacob Jones drinks big and is packed with flavor. It's well-balanced and thoroughly enjoyable.
