A: pale straw yellow color with some slight haze. No real head - odd for a Saison

S: tart apple skin and pear. Lemongrass and sweet grains. A touch of earthy herbal hops. Very dry crackers on the nose as well

T: tart apple skin and pear. Tart to the point of vinear sour. Dry crackers and earthy grains behind that. A touch of lemongrass. Finish is tart and like lemonade

M: light mouthfeel with lower carbonation than I’m used to for a Saison

O: a tart Saison, and it succeeds at that for sure.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, straw-yellow color. The initial bubbly, bright white head disappeared in a matter of seconds and there was no residual lacing. Its smell features Brett yeast, lemon, sweet tropical fruit, banana, coriander, and other Belgian spices. The taste opens tart and sour but there are also sweet notes of banana, apple, and mango. In fact, as the glass warms it becomes surprisingly sweet. There is the usual Saison spicing: coriander, clove, and a touch of pepper. The sourness and sweetness compliment each other very well. This Saison is crisp with lively carbonation, and its punchy 7.4% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, the initial lack of head and lacing was rather off-putting but Nothing But Net is redeemed by its taste and feel. Twin Elephant likes to brew Saisons and this one's worth a try!
