Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours an opaque, bright golden-tangerine color with a finger of creamy, milk-white head and lots of clingy lacing. It's a pretty pour. On the nose there are mild Saison smells of lemon, banana, clove, coriander, tobacco, and floral hops. While the various scents are discernible they are subdued. The taste is very complex: It opens slightly sour with some tart lemon, banana, and Belgian spicing. Then there is a wash of plush Galaxy and Motueka hops. The Motueka adds its immediately recognizable soft tropical fruit notes. But the ale isn't overly fruity; in fact, it finishes quite dry. This bevy of tastes manages to blend very well. The mouth feel is thicker and creamier than a typical Saison and the carbonation is lower. And it's potent at 8.3% ABV. Overall, this variant of Juicy Busey is adventuresome and I think much better than the original iteration. Twin Elephant is adept at brewing Belgians and the addition of Motueka is inspired.
