Dark brown color where light passes along the edge. Smaller head which leaves miniscule spots.
Some coffee and burnt black patent malt nose.
Thinner body with a muted level of carbonation. The malts are more subtle than the smell but still dominates the taste. There's an indistinct bittering hop in the finish. Longer dry aftertaste.

This is very dark brown, with rich, mahogany highlights. It is clear, with a shallow, light beige head that quickly dissipates, leaving only spotty lace on a pint glass.
The aroma is filled with fruity malt and mildly roasted malt. Caramel lifts the big, nutty character. Black coffee follows as it warms. It smells better than the score suggests. I found that the fruity malt seems wrong for this style, however, it is a very pleasant touch.
The flavor is almost completely malt forward and closely follows the nose. The roasted malt is a little more present in the flavor. Mild bitterness works with light astringency just before a long, roasted malt finish.
There is no presence of alcohol and the carbonation is soft, just short of flat. The dryness of this beer works well with the thin body and satin texture.
This is a nice beer and is easily sessionable. It works well with long, casual conversations and while sitting back to watch family interact on Thanksgiving Day.
Thank you Jason.

Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a dark cola with a modest, ecru-colored head and thin film of lacing. The nose is malty with caramel/toffee, molasses, and a hint of tobacco and nuts, and it improves as the glass warms. Its taste is impressive; it opens dry, nutty, and slightly bitter but as it breathes and warms up there is chocolate malt, burnt coffee, and toffee. There is more depth of flavor than I expected. As expected, this ale is lite and crisp with a pleasant level of carbonation. And it's super easy to drink at 3.5% ABV. You can have a couple pours without issue. Overall, Twin Elephant has brewed a fine English Dark Mild Ale. It's a good recipe that is well-executed. Lots of flavor in an unassuming package. And I give TE style points for brewing this style. It would be great on cask.

a: nice rich dark brown, almost black in color. aggressive pour yielded a 3ish finge head, but it settles to a 1/2 finger dark tan film...more in line with what you'd expect
s: lovely aroma of chocolate, mild roasted malts, and a real nice nutty sweetness. some oaky woody notes and brown sugar. charred malts and molasses. really nice rich robust aroma
t: toasted malts and a big nutty presence. charred wood and light molasses. caramel and some cocoa powder
m: light mouthfeel with low carbonation
o: this is just what you want from a Dark Mild. Robust aroma, and some nice richness (for the abv) in the flavor. malty and charry. the kind of beer you could drink all day in the pub
