On this, New Clear Out the Reefer Beers Sunday (Week 783),I am opting to begin with one of the MOST frustrating CANning breweries in my exbeerience. I have had so many of their CANs puff up & explode that each survivor is now treated like nitroglycerin & cold-stored until CANsumption for The CANQuest (tm). 8=(
From the (intact) CAN: "Gose-style Ale w/Salt, Coriander & Cranberry"; "Artfully Crafted & CANned …"; "Unfiltered. Store Cold. Drink Fresh."
Aha. Unfiltered paved the way for an aggro Glug after I Crack!ed open the vent. I had performed some in-CAN agitation as it was, but now, I let loose in a cascade. I was not surprised by its rapid foaming action, but I was a little nonplussed by my inability to CANtrol it. I must say that the two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, pinkish head with excellent retention, especially for the style, was remarkable! It looked like the meringue that I made with maraschino cherries as a lark. I used it as a topping on a cherry pie to hide my disastrous lattice in HomeEc. ;=) As it FINALLY subsided, I was able to lean in for a sniff. Ahh. I have professed my love for Goses in the past, given their reliance on sea salt, which takes me back to my career in the Navy, but this was singular! It was salty, sure, but the coriander & cranberry made for a great CANplimentary CANbination. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy pinkish-Amber (SRM = N/A). Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about on par for the style. The taste was tart & salty, lip-smacking & lip-puckering, with a pleasant cranberry aspect that made me long for some turkey as an acCANpaniment. Man, this was at once thirst-quenching & thirst-inducing! I have no idea what inspired them to do this, but it was brilliant. Finish was tart & dry, especially given the spice addition. Phew. I would love this at Thanksgiving. YMMV.

Look: pink. Frothy white head.
AROMA: cranberry, salt water, ...a tad weak.
TASTE: dry cran, touch of salt, wheat. Yeast. Veggie.
Feel. Thin, flat, but foamy.

I got this beer before Thanksgiving. When I poured it into the glass I loved the red color of it. It tasted exactly as I expected, a hint cranberry with the right amount of sour! Hope they bring it back, it was the only Gose I could find in the Jersey Shore!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
