This RyePA was brewed with fresh Michigan Chinook hop cones picked hours before they were added to the hopback! Roasted malts and bright hops meet in the aroma.

On tap at the brew pub - Lincolnshire, IL
A - creamy tan head rests atop an opaque near black ale
S - roasty, dark chocolate, spicy & earthy rye, earthy hops
T - big and bitter mixture of flavors: dark bakers chocolate, roasted barley, rye, char, pumpernickel & rye bread crust, piny hops; juicy grapefruit zest and coffee notes come out more as it warms
M - resinous full body, hop oils stick to the palate creating a building bitterness with each sip; finishes dry and bitter with pine lingering
O - although not a true "style", this is one of my favorites - a blackened rye IPA. I haven't had one I didn't like. This one packs a bitter punch with a nice rye flavor to round out the roasty malt backbone. Definitely makes this place worth revisiting!

12/27/16...served on tap at the LS brewery. Pours a picturesque dark black, light rain of off white foam. Roasted coffees, malts, and hints of rye aromas. Taste is a smooth roasted IPA hybrid, with notes of the rye coming through, Smooth mouthfeel. Balanced bitter stays the course. Nicely made beer.

I'm trying the wet hopped black rye ipa at the brewery. It poured an opaque black with ecru head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of citrus and roast. The taste is nicely balanced for a black ipa. There is slight coffee with grapefruit citrus. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid black ipa and is worth a try.
