A twist on tradition - German Perle and Hüll Melon hops offer pleasant bitterness accented by aromas of ripe melon and strawberry in the finish.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 2/19/26 — just days before I bought it!
Appearance: medium golden hue with a clear body with a finger of frohty eggshell foam atop.
Smell: slighty sweet malt with a rather grainy aroma and some very light corny notes. It’s not terrible, but the wet-grain thing just doesn’t entirely work for me.
Taste: moderately sweet up front with, again, a grainy malt character, and a somewhat high bitterness for the style that doesn’t mesh super well with the graininess. I don’t think it’s poorly-made or anything, it just doesn’t quite work for me.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: decent enough, and others may like it, but it’s not my favorite Kölsch.

Pour is crystal clear, light foamy head. Nose is typical for a European ale, a bit of fruit & floral on the pour, then goes to a diffuse yeast / cracker aroma. Taste is very German with a pleasantly dry bitterness to start which then is layered with a long finish for the malt base. Catching a light mineral taste in the finish. A fine example of the style.

On tap:
Lazy bubbles of fair girth rise through this clear golden liquid obscured by a chill haze initially. Head is spongy though it is perched loosely atop the beer, splattering the inner glass wall with spongy white lace.
Nose and taste follow in a nicely tuned lock-step of a dance. Bready malt has a light hint of mold, accented by a citrus tang that has the whole thing seeming to flirts with skunkiness. Funny how there’s a few terms here that don’t seem like they’d be desired, but they work. As it warms, the hops gain a little peppery bite in back.
A crisp, clean beer that comes across a tad harsh in its initial, near ice temperatures, but lightens nicely by mid-glass.
A very enjoyable beer that doesn’t sacrifice refreshment or flavor.
