On tap at Reverend's BBQ in Portland. Recommended by the slightly British waiter. Pours a dark honey brown with lots of lacing. More flavors than I expected. Yes, caramel and malt, but a nice balancing hops bite and some rye bready notes.

Unfiltered darker golden body, slight copper hue. Spicy hop bite, light biscuit and a bit of toasted bread, touch pumpernickel. Good balance of mild caramel and bready sweetness with a light floral and spicy hop bite. Medium lighter body, good carb.

Pours an amber copperish color with excellent off white head retention. I'd expect a lighter color for a fest or wiesn bier. Head kind of looks like a pizza or bread dough post primary fermentation. It has that level of fluffiness and hold. Bready malt and spicy soapy hop on the nose. Maybe some cinnamon raisin bread. There's a lot of kind of honey wheat bread character. It's dry and there is a slightly soapy floral hop character. It's alright.

Had on tap. Amber clear body with a finger of white foam. Aromas of soggy toast, lager malt, bready yeast and a hint of nuts. Taste is kind of bland with malt and toast leading, hints of nuts and bright yeast come in at the end, but kind of watery in delivery. Feel is watery yet medium bodied, odd how the malts give out so quickly but the yeast carries. Meh festbier with no dynamic flavor or texture
