Poured from a 750mL bottle into a St Bernardus goblet. Bottle 133 of 250.
3.5/4/3.25/3/3.25
Pours deep, opaque mahogany with very light head.
Smells smoky, almost meaty, bacony, with fruit spice in the background.
Doesn't really present as a dubbel, but kinda a sweet rauchbier. Not bad, but not Belgian. Very malty, not much spice or yeast.
Smooth, almost flat.
Interesting, but not very to style, and not particularly compelling. Memorable mostly for the meatiness.
