Had at Oak Park's Brew Fest, so the most I can do is a truncated review. (My palate may have been numbed by IPAs.)
This Golden ale is not bad, just not distinguished.
As with many Belgian-inspired ales from young brewers, the yeast is the key ingredient to bring out the flavors and this yeast left lots of fruit still in the malt. But on a hot day, it was refreshing. Crisp for an ale.
I went on Skeleton Key's website and was impressed by what they are trying to do: not just brew, but be a community center for brewing; teaching home brewers and coaching them. All for the love of beer !

Taste: crisp as a cracker, mellow malt in the finish. Mild nose. Gold, clear as crystal, average head with delicate lace. Medium/lite body. Easy appetizer ale. 16 IBUs

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
