Deep black ale with aromas of dried fruit and a hint of smoke. A raisin-like sweetness is followed by a bittersweet chocolate finish.

Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with plenty of dark beige foam in the New Belgium snifter. Sudsy and mouth-filling. Aromas of roasted grain. Starts out slightly sweet with a taste of cocoa. Flavors of dark caramel, cola, and a touch of charred grain. A winey finish with quite just a little bitterness. This is really good, I find. Reminds me of the Black Patent malt flavor from making homebrew. From the 16 oz can purchased at the community co-op market. Dated 03/16/25.

Pours a chocolate brown/black with almost no head which goes away quickly (before I got to the table it was gone). It has a nice chocolate taste with a hint of coffee and slight sweetness. I not a stout person but this is one I could drink. Sampled wife's drink for review. this has a medium mouthfeel, not a heavy stout. 35 IBUs Rated 5-24-2021

Sampling a 16 oz can of this beer poured into my snifter. Date stamp is canned on 07/06/2023. The beer pours a rich cola brown color and a soft sort of creamy beige head of .5 cm foams up on the pour. This foam fades slowly to a sturdy edge layer that sticks around for the sampling. There is some clingy dense lattice when I take a sip.
Aroma is nice and roasty, with hints of high cacao dark chocolate , some coffee grounds and a little charred note. Very olde school non-adjuncted stout here. The roast carries the nose and there is no hint of any hop character.
First sip reveals a medium body with very fine tingly carbonation. Texture is very smooth and this beer drinks easy and my glass empties quickly.
the flavor is similar to the nose, lotta roasted malt, a little char and faint molasses, but definitely far from sweet. Dark chocolate again, and some faint coffee. No hops and booze is totally hidden on this beer, which checks out for a 6.6% stout.
I am enjoying this beer and find the flavors to work well. Pretty straightforward roasty stout.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a one finger khaki head dissipates slowly to patches, leaving light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted and light biscuit malt, bakers chocolate and a touch of coffee. Flavor follows, with dark toasted malt with light char, bakers and dark chocolate and coffee. Flavor thins out a bit at the end, but leaves a lingering coffee note. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A somewhat mellow stout, but has a good char smokiness and distinct coffee and chocolate character. Could use a little more flavor intensity, but the chocolate/coffee balance is quite nice.
